Private Saxophone Lessons

Rob Bennion has been teaching saxophone lessons since January 2003.  His students have been very successful, some of which have performed with the prestigious Utah All-State Jazz band and the Crescent School of Music Superband in the United States.  His teaching method incorporates both classical and jazz styles giving a well-rounded and versatile technique.   Lessons can take place either in the student’s or Rob Bennion’s home.

Here is a letter written by a parent of two former students:

“Rob Bennion has been teaching music lessons for my children for two years.  He has instructed my son on the alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones and my daughter on the flute and tenor saxophone.  This has been a great benefit for us, rather than trying to find different teachers for each different instrument.  Because he has playing experience on several different instruments, he gives practical instruction that helps the kids attain the sounds and effects they are trying to master more easily.  Also because of his experience, he has given us good advice on what to look for when purchasing or renting instruments, music, reeds, and other things.  One thing we appreciate is that he has good tips on how to be economical, without compromising quality, in a hobby that can be very expensive.

Rob has a fun, kind approach and is always encouraging and motivating the kids to visualize their goals and work hard to attain them.  He always has a story or analogy to share with the kids to help them learn something.  He relates to the kids and the kids respect him because he listens to them and talks to them as a friend.  He is supportive in gearing lessons around music that they are interested in or in skills that they are trying to master.   The kids enjoy their lessons very much.  As a parent, I feel like we have found a jewel of a teacher.”
